Elmer W. Wiggins '01 Fund

The Elmer W. Wiggins ’01 Fund was established in 1946 by bequest of Elmer Wiggins ’01. This scholarship fund was designed to benefit worthy boys from the rural districts who are or desire to become students at Amherst College. These students should be deserving because of their character and intellectual promise. Preference should be given to boys of Warsaw (in Wyoming County), NY, and then secondly to boys of other places in Wyoming County, NY. Elmer Wiggins was the founder of Wiggins Airways, Inc. in Boston, MA. One third of the income from this fund should be applied to the principal.
