Philip G. Barach Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Philip G. Barach Memorial Scholarship Fund, established in 2016 by Donna J. and Michael I. Barach ’80, is a permanently endowed scholarship fund at Amherst College providing financial aid to students with demonstrated financial need. Created to honor the memory of Philip G. Barach—a first-generation son of immigrants seeking American sanctuary who blended ethics, business, and a devotion to family to create a timeless example of how to live a purposeful and productive life—the scholarship will provide financial aid to Amherst students with demonstrated financial need, with a preference for students who are U.S. citizens and the first-generation children of immigrants and/or first-generation college students.
