Phillip W. Gorth 2004 Scholarship Fund

The Phillip W. Gorth ’04 Scholarship Fund, established in 2014 by Phillip W. Gorth ’04, is a permanently endowed scholarship fund at Amherst College providing financial aid to Amherst students with demonstrated financial need as determined by the Dean of Admission and Financial Aid. Preference for this award is given to an Amherst student with a demonstrated excellence in writing as evidenced by his or her academic achievements in the humanities, especially LJST, or through a commitment to teaching writing development to students in the local, secondary public school system, or in urban settings, through courses or programs sponsored by Amherst College.
