John Whitney Hall '39 Scholarship Fund

The John Whitney Hall ’39 Scholarship Fund was established in 1997 by Betty Bolce Hall in honor of her husband, John Whitney Hall ’39. Income from this permanently endowed fund will be used to provide support for an Amherst student with demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to a student pursuing studies in the history, language and/or civilization of Japan. Should Amherst be unable to find a suitable scholarship recipient, income for that year shall be reinvested to build the corpus of the John Whitney Hall ’39 Scholarship Fund.
