Charles E. Merrill '08 Scholarship Fund

The Charles E. Merrill ’08 Scholarship Fund was established in 1953 by the colleagues of Charles E. Merrill ’08 of Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Beane in his honor. This* four-year scholarship* was designed for a worthy son of a Merrill Lynch employee regardless of financial need. This individual is to be nominated by the general partners of the firm (or Board of Directors, if incorporated). Amherst College contacted Merrill Lynch in 1975 to reconfirm these guidelines and perhaps modify them but there are no records on file regarding the outcome of this contact. If this scholarship is not awarded, the income should be placed towards the principal.
