William Montague Cobb '25 Scholarship Fund

The William Montague Cobb ’25 Scholarship Fund was established in 1987 by Alan S. Bernstein ’63 and the Georges Lurcy Charitable and Educational Trust in honor of Dr. Cobb. Cobb was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree from Amherst in 1955. The Fund is used to support Amherst students eligible for financial aid, with a preference for Black American students majoring in the mathematics or sciences, who show great promise for a future career in the medical or science professions.
