George L. Shinn Scholarship Fund

The George L. Shinn Scholarship Fund was established in 1983 in honor of George L. Shinn, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the First Boston Corporation from 1975 to 1983 and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Amherst College from 1973 to 1980. This Fund has been established by the officers and directors of the First Boston Corporation for students eligible to receive support. These students must possess the same elements of character, dedication to learning, concern for others, and commitment to the College embodied in George Shinn’s relationship as a student, alumnus Trustee and Board Chairman. Recipients will ordinarily receive aid from the Fund each year so long as their eligibility is maintained.
