Anonymous 1989 Scholarship Fund

The Anonymous 1989 Scholarship Fund is a permanently endowed fund to be used to provide financial aid to Amherst students with demonstrated financial need as as determined by the Dean of Admission and Financial Aid. Amherst’s longstanding commitment to accessibility for talented students of limited means is rooted in the tenets of its founding. Scholarship support makes it possible for the College to accept students based solely on achievement and promise, not on family income. Amherst’s commitment to need-blind admission, meeting the full demonstrated need of admitted students, and providing aid awards that do not require student loans have made Amherst a leader among liberal arts colleges in increasing socioeconomic diversity.
